C.S. Lewis wrote an essay titled: “Miserable Offender”
“Those who do not think about their own sins make up for it by thinking incessantly about the sins of others.”
Lewis calls this a ‘JEALOUSY OF AFFECTION’ and relates how this happens often in family and friend relationships. He writes in his book
“The four Loves”
“But it is not only children who react thus (with Jealousy). Few things in the ordinary peacetime life of a civilized country are more nearly fiendish than the rancor with which a whole unbelieving family will turn on the one member of it who has become a Christian”
